Jury sides with Google in patent case

Oracle had sued Google for patent infringement, alleging the search giant’s mobile operating system infringed on several patents held by the company.

Because the jury found no infringement, there is no need for a damages phase of the trial. The judge presiding over the case dismissed the jury after it delivered the verdict in Google’s favor.

{mosads}”Today’s jury verdict that Android does not infringe Oracle’s patents was a victory not just for Google but the entire Android ecosystem,” a Google spokesperson said in a statement.
