The Wall Street Journal also noted that General Motors offered workers at the plant jobs at other locations and many of the Janesville employees took other assignments in Ohio, Michigan and Texas.
After Ryan’s speech, critics accused Ryan of grossly exaggerating what happened at the plant. Ryan, however, stood by his story.
“It’s still idle,” Ryan said in an interview with CNN. “The point is, this is a story of the Obama economy.”
