Michelle Obama wins cookie race
{mosads}The first lady beat Ann Romney in Family Circle magazine’s Presidential Bake-off contest, the magazine announced Tuesday.
Every other contest winner, except Cindy McCain in 2008, went on to inhabit the White House.
And just like the presidential race, the cookie race was tight. According to the magazine, it was the smallest victory margin ever for Obama, who took 51.5 percent of the vote for her White and Dark Chocolate Chip Cookies.
Ann Romney earned 48.5 percent of the vote for her M&M cookies, with only 287 votes separating the two.
Obama credits her winning recipe to her daughters’ godmother, Mama Kaye. In 2008, Michelle Obama entered Shortbread Cookies in the contest
Michelle Obama later tweeted about the contest, thanking the magazine while underlining the importance of voting.
The @familycircle cookie contest was a lot of fun, so thanks to those who voted. Such a close race proves that every vote counts! –mo
