Seven House races remain too close to call

Seven House races are still undecided, with two California Republicans facing particularly close contests.

Reps. Dan Lungren (R-Calif.) and Brian Bilbray (R-Calif.) both trail their opponents by narrow margins with some absentee and provisional ballots yet to be counted. Lungren trails by 184 votes while Bilbray trails by 685.

{mosads}Rep. Mike McIntyre (D-N.C.) is in the opposite position, with a 378-vote lead.

The races of both Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.) and Rep. Mary Bono Mack (R-Calif.) have likewise not been called, though they both trail by a few thousand votes. Bono Mack’s opponent has declared victory, while Democrats — and some local newspapers — are calling on West to concede.

Two Arizona races are also still too close to call: Rep. Ron Barber (D-Ariz.) trails Republican Martha McSally by just 426 votes after more early votes were counted, while Democrat Kyrsten Sinema’s lead has expanded to 2,715 votes.

Democrat Julia Brownley has been declared the victor of a Ventura County, Calif., seat, a race that had at first been too close to call, while Rep. Dan Benishek (R-Mich.) held on in his reelection in northern Michigan.
