Adrian Grenier wants a peek at Michelle Obama’s White House garden

Best known for his lead role as Vincent Chase on HBO’s “Entourage,” Grenier said he was excited President Obama mentioned the environment in his acceptance speech last week, which “was quite a shift for the country to hear in such an important speech.”

Rocking a half-up hairdo with a messy bun, the environmental crusader said he doesn’t describe himself as an activist and that SHFT doesn’t “focus on doom and gloom.”

Instead, he talked about the SHFT Mobile Kitchen Classroom, a nonprofit that takes a professional teaching kitchen to New York City public schools and allows children to “explore the wonders of cooking for themselves.”

He praised the first lady for her work on the Let’s Move campaign and noted, “it’s really doing a lot to help our young kids eat right and look to a smarter future through health and brain food.”

Grenier and Glatzer went to the White House Tuesday to talk environmental policy, but didn’t get to meet with either of the Obamas. 

“We got as far as Valerie Jarrett,” Glatzer joked, referring to the White House senior adviser. 

Grenier was pleased to have talked with a variety of people, but wanted something more.

“I’ve been to the White House a couple of times, and I have yet to go see the garden,” he lamented.

“I’ll get a rain check for you, I’m in charge of the garden,” joked former Sen. Chris Dodd (D-Conn.), chairman of the MPAA.
