“I’m saying right now, anyone from New York or New Jersey who contributes one penny to congressional Republicans is out of their minds, because what they did last night was put a knife in the back of New Yorkers and New Jerseyans,” King said on Fox News.
{mosads}Christie also called out Boehner in a press conference Thursday.
“There’s only one group to blame for the continued suffering of these innocent victims: The House majority and their Speaker John Boehner,” he said. “Last night, my party was responsible for this.”
The House adjourned after passing a tax bill late Tuesday, and the new session of Congress will convene Thursday at noon. Following criticism, Boehner announced two votes on disaster relief, one Friday and another Jan. 15. Democrats such as Rep. Joe Courtney (D-Conn.) praised bipartisanship for the results.
Bipartisan pressure forces House GOP to hold partial #Sandy vote Friday. @govchristie, Rep Peter King joined CT Reps to get 2 votes in Jan.
