Nugent pledges to ‘take on the media orgy’ following State of the Union

{mosads}President Obama is expected to urge Congress to adopt sweeping new gun controls during his speech Tuesday night. In the aftermath of the Newtown, Conn., elementary school shooting in December, Obama asked Congress to pass an updated assault weapons ban, new limits on magazine capacity and universal background checks on all firearms purchases.

First lady Michelle Obama will be hosting a number of individuals touched by gun violence in her box for the event. They include Cleopatra Cowley-Pendleton and Nathaniel A. Pendleton Sr., the parents of a Chicago teenager gunned down last month near the Obama’s home; Brian Murphy, a first responder to the Sikh temple shooting in Oak Creek, Wis., last August; and a first grade teacher who worked at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

In a statement released Monday, Stockman said in a statement he was “excited to have a patriot like Ted Nugent joining me” and that “after the address I’m sure Ted will have plenty to say.”
