University of Virginia cuts some health benefits, citing ObamaCare costs
{mosads}Spouses who have access to insurance coverage through their own employer will no longer be able to use the UVA plan, the university said in a news release.
The change does not affect coverage for children or spouses who do not have access to insurance through a separate employer.
Republicans leapt on the news, saying it’s another sign that the law won’t live up to Obama’s pledge that people who like their coverage will be able to keep it.
“American families who are already grappling with higher health care costs under the law are also coming face-to-face with the stark reality that they will lose the coverage they have and like,” Republicans on the House Ways and Means Committee said Wednesday.
