Palin says Murkowski write-in bid to keep her Senate seat would be ‘futile’

Sarah Palin on Saturday said that a write-in campaign by Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) to keep her Senate seat would be “futile,” according to a press report.

Murkowski is mulling the write-in bid after her shocking loss to Palin-backed Tea Party favorite Joe Miller in the state’s GOP primary.

“Joe Miller is going to win the general,” Palin told Bloomberg in Wasilla, Alaska, where she appeared at an event marking the anniversary of the Sept. 11 terror attacks. “It seems like it’s a futile effort, there, for a write-in effort, but she certainly has that right to do so.”

Miller also appeared at the event in Wasilla, where Palin served as mayor before becoming governor and then Sen. John McCain’s (R-Ariz.) running mate in his failed 2008 White House campaign.
