Fourth Republican enters Nebraska Senate race

{mosads}Dinsdale joins former State Treasurer Shane Osborn, Midland University President Ben Sasse and Omaha attorney Bart McLeay in the GOP primary to replace Sen. Mike Johanns (R), who will retire at the end of his term. No Democrat has entered the race.

Dinsdale, as chairman of Lincoln-based Pinnacle Bank, could easily self-finance his bid, but according to the Omaha World-Herald he hopes he doesn’t have to.

“I hope not much,” he said, when asked how much of his own money he planned to spend on his bid. “I want people to invest in my campaign.”

He said during a Monday campaign stop he’ll run as an anti-abortion conservative, and will limit himself to just two terms in office. He also pledged to reduce government regulations.

“Government constantly interferes with the lives of individuals and businesses, damaging our productivity and our ability to compete in this global economy,” Dinsdale said.
