GOP lawmaker: Talking to Sebelius like talking to North Korea

Rep. John Shimkus (R-Ill.) lashed out at Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius on Wednesday, saying talking to her was like talking to North Korea.

{mosads}Shimkus became heated during a disagreement with Sebelius over the Medicaid expansion under ObamaCare and said it was pointless for him to argue with the secretary over the matter.

“It’s like talking to the Republic of Korea,” he said at a House Energy and Commerce Committee hearing.

The Republic of Korea is actually South Korea. North Korea is the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

Rep. Frank Pallone Jr. (D-N.J.), who began the hearing by asking his colleagues to treat Sebelius respectfully and to allow her to finish her answers to the committee’s questions, strenuously objected to Shimkus’s comments.

That started a shouting match with Shimkus, who was still on the clock for his questioning.
