Sen. Lee to deliver Tea Party response to State of the Union
Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) will deliver the Tea Party’s response to President Obama’s State of the Union address next week.
{mosads}The movement’s largest political action committee, Tea Party Express, made the announcement on Tuesday.
“For the Tea Party movement, 2014 is not just about taking back the Senate, but it is also about putting forward conservative ideas that will allow for America to prosper. Senator Mike Lee has been both a Tea Party hero for supporters across the nation, and a conservative leader in the Upper Chamber,” Tea Party Express Chairman Amy Kremer said in a statement.
{mosads}Lee, a Tea Party member, will deliver the response following the Republican Party’s reaction at the National Press Club.
The Republicans have not yet announced who will represent them in their response. Last year, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) delivered the GOP reaction to the annual address.
The State of the Union is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 28.
