New fed-supported light rail set to open in June
A new light rail line linking Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minn., is scheduled to open on June 14, the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reported Thursday.
The project, which is an extension of Minneapolis’s existing light rail system, is being built in part with more than $475 million in federal money.
{mosads}The light rail line had been held up by debates about its route, but officials told the Star-Tribune on Thursday they will be ready to go now in June.
The new line will be known as the Green Line.
