Sullivan hauls in $1.3M for Alaska Senate race

Alaska Senate candidate Dan Sullivan (R) has hauled in $1.3 million in the last three months, continuing his strong fundraising pace as he seeks to win the GOP nomination and face Sen. Mark Begich (D-Alaska) in the fall.

{mosads}Sullivan now has almost $2 million on the bank, having raised approximately $2.6 million since he got in the race.

Begich raised $1 million during the same period and has $2.8 million in the bank. His cash on hand numbers barely budged in the last quarter, as he’s been on TV with ads of his own responding to attacks from conservative outside groups.

Alaska’s inexpensive airtime means both candidates will likely have no problem staying on the air for much of the rest of the year.

Sullivan’s GOP primary opponents, Alaska Lt. Gov. Mead Treadwell (R) and 2010 Senate nominee Joe Miller (R), have yet to release their fundraising numbers. Both have been unimpressive in the fundraising department in past quarters.

“I am humbled by the continued support our campaign has received over these last few months from my fellow Alaskans and Americans. Our growing momentum highlights the increased frustration with the fact that Mark Begich is a rubberstamp for President Obama’s liberal agenda, supporting his policies 97 percent of the time,” Sullivan says in a forthcoming release obtained by The Hill.

Establishment and conservative Washington Republicans have both rallied around Sullivan — he has the backing of the Club for Growth as well as from his longtime friend, National Republican Senatorial Committee Vice Chairman Rob Portman (Ohio).
