Cochran’s Tea Party foe launches first ad

Mississippi state Sen. Chris McDaniel (R) is out with his first ad in his race against Sen. Thad Cochran (R-Miss.), a spot touting his conservative views that takes a subtle dig at Cochran.

{mosads}”Mississippi is my home. I was born here. I love raising my family here. I’m Chris McDaniel, and I approve this message because our politicians in Washington have forgotten our conservative Mississippi values,” he says before advocating for prayer in schools and the second amendment and knocking ObamaCare and “more wasteful spending.”

“That’s the type of constitutional conservatism we need in D.C.,” he closes.

The primary hopeful’s campaign called the buy “significant” and that the ad will run on broadcast and cable statewide.

McDaniel is likely conservatives’ best hope to knock off an incumbent GOP senator this election. While this is his first ad, his allies — including the Club for Growth and Senate Conservatives Fund — have been on the air backing his campaign and attacking Cochran for months.
