Cantor challenger accuses him of wanting ‘open borders’
House Majority Leader Eric Cantor’s (R-Va.) Tea Party challenger ripped him for backing “amnesty” for immigrants in the U.S. illegally, arguing he wants “open borders.”
{mosads}”Eric Cantor is the author of the House principles which allows for 6.5 million illegals to become legal and gain a pathway to citizenship, and he’s been in favor of the DREAM Act, the ENLIST Act and the KIDS Act,” professor Dave Brat (R) said about Cantor’s views on MSNBC Tuesday morning. “If you want open borders vote for Eric Cantor, because he’s opening the borders.”
Brat has been hammering Cantor on immigration, while Cantor has responded with a heavy dose of attack ads describing his opponent as a “liberal college professor” and has sent mailers saying he’s against “amnesty.”
Cantor is expected to prevail in Tuesday’s primary.
