Senate passes Intelligence authorization bill
The Senate passed a bill Wednesday night that would allow appropriators to begin work on the 2015 Intelligence Appropriations bill.
{mosads}By voice-vote the Senate pass S. 1681 with a complete substitute amendment from Senate Intelligence Committee Chairwoman Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.).
The House has already passed its 2015 Intelligence appropriations bill, while the Senate still has work to do.
S. 1681 is simply an authorization bill that suggests that appropriators continue to fund intelligence programs such as the the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and the National Security Agency (NSA).
Due to the classified nature of many of its provisions, the intelligence authorization is marked up in committee behind closed doors.
