Will ‘Roar’ be Clinton’s 2016 theme song?
Pop singer Katy Perry has offered to write a campaign theme song for Hillary Clinton if she decides to run for president in 2016.
Clinton suggested Sunday on Twitter that Perry already wrote one — “Roar.”
.@katyperry Well that’s not a Hard Choice. You already did! Keep letting us hear you Roar.
— Hillary Clinton (@HillaryClinton) June 22, 2014
The exchange happened after Perry tweeted a photo with Clinton on Friday, displaying her new memoir Hard Choices. She posted the picture on her Instagram account.
Celine Dion’s “You and I” was Clinton’s theme song for her 2008 presidential campaign, which invited some criticism from Republicans who claimed she outsourced the music from a Canadian singer.
Clinton is considered the Democratic front-runner for 2016 if she decides to jump into the race. She’s currently in the middle of a national book tour and suggested earlier this month she would make a decision about 2016 either later this year or in 2015.
