James Taylor has NC Senate in his mind

James Taylor has the Carolina Senate race in his mind.

{mosads}The folk singer and Democratic activist is helping out Sen. Kay Hagan (D-N.C.).

The Hagan campaign is raffling off two tickets to see Taylor in concert and meet him afterward. Donations to Hagan’s race qualify supporters for the raffle, which was announced via email Thursday morning.

” ‘Carolina in My Mind’ isn’t just a catchy tune. James grew up in North Carolina. But if we allow fringe politicians and their special interest allies to buy this seat, Carolina will be nothing like the place James and many of us remember,” Hagan writes in the email.

Taylor has long helped out liberal and Democratic causes. He played the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, N.C., two years ago and helped fundraise for Organizing for Action earlier this year.
