Biden congratulates ‘Veep’ star on Emmy
“Veep” star Julia Louis-Dreyfus is getting a shout-out from the real-life vice president, Joe Biden.
Biden tweeted congratulations to the actress on Tuesday, a day after she took home her third consecutive Emmy award for her role as the sometimes-blundering Vice President Selina Meyer on the HBO satire.
Congrats @OfficialJLD. A fellow Veep with a great sense of humor, and a good friend. #Emmys pic.twitter.com/wikJKdREBF

Reality and fantasy have collided before for the real and fake VPs. In his tweet, Biden included a still image from a video he filmed with Louis-Dreyfus for May’s White House Correspondents’ Association dinner.
The pair also shared a lunch at the White House last year.
{mosads}In an interview with Katie Couric, Louis-Dreyfus described the meal as “embarrassing.” Although the entertainer said Biden “could not have been more charming,” she explained, “I was so unbelievably, profoundly nervous that I had no appetite whatsoever. I couldn’t make a decision about what to eat.”
