Electric car maker, Telsa Motors, has picked Nevada as the home of its highly anticipated giant battery factor.

CNBC reports that according to a source in the Nevada’s governor office, the deal is “a go.”

{mosads}”That’s a go, but they are still negotiating the specifics of the contract,” the source said Wednesday.

A Tesla representative said in an email to The Hill that the company “looks forward to joining [Nevada] Gov. [Brian] Sandoval [R] and legislative leaders tomorrow … for a major economic development announcement.”

A press conference has been scheduled for Thursday in Carson City, where the deal is expected to be announced.

The “gigafactory” is a joint venture by Panasonic and Tesla, and is expected to create 6,500 jobs. The plant will produce cells, modules and packs for Tesla’s electric cars.
