Biden motorcade struck police motorcycle
A van in Vice President Biden’s motorcade winding through San Francisco last week collided with a police motorcycle, the city’s police department said Monday.
{mosads}“The van was coming out of the [Intercontinental Mark Hopkins hotel] garage onto California Street where the van’s front right side made contact with the police motorcycle on the left side, which a sergeant was on,” police spokesman Albie Esparza told The Wall Street Journal.
Nobody was injured in the collision, although the motorcycle was damaged. The police report found the driver of the van to be at fault, although she was not cited in the incident.
Biden was in San Francisco for fundraisers ahead of the midterm elections.
In 2012, a police motorcyclist in President Obama’s motorcade died after being critically injured in a crash. In that accident a Ford pickup struck the motorcycle, which was traveling ahead of the president’s limousine.
