Lawmakers react to Washington shooting
Members of the House and Senate from Washington state reacted with sadness to Friday’s shooting at a high school near Seattle.
A male student, identified by a government official as Jaylen Fryberg, opened fire in the cafeteria. He killed one student and injured four others before killing himself, according to the Associated Press.

She was joined by many of her colleagues in the House and Senate.
“We pray for the impacted families, students and the community, who have suffered this unbelievable tragedy,” said Sen. Maria Cantwell (D-Wash.)
“I pray for a quick recovery for the injured students, and I mourn with the rest of our community for those who lost their lives today,” said Rep. Dave Reichert (R-Wash.)
