Republicans hold seat in Va.’s tightest House race
Republican state Del. Barbara Comstock edged ahead of Democratic challenger John Foust on Tuesday to win Virginia’s most competitive House race.
Comstock had 58 percent of the vote, with 50 percent of precincts reporting, according to The Associated Press.
The seat was previously held by Rep. Frank Wolf (R-Va.). The Northern Virginia district tends to lean Republican, though the area is increasingly turning purple.
Comstock has held the advantage in the 10th Congressional District since national Democrats pulled funding for Foust, a Fairfax County supervisor, in early October.
