Michael Brown’s dad passes out turkeys
The father of slain Missouri teenager Michael Brown is handing out turkeys this weekend as a grand jury deliberates whether to indict the officer who fatally shot him.
Brown’s father said he was distributing the turkeys to thank those who have helped his family since the Aug. 9 shooting, USA Today reported.
“This will be our first Thanksgiving without our son. The family just had to roll up our sleeves and help the community,” Michael Brown Sr., explained.
“We thought this was the most best for us, to just help back out. We love the support, came to give back.”
Increased tension in the city has erupted as the grand jury decision nears about whether charges will be brought against officer Darren Wilson, who says he acted in self-defense.
