Dingell admitted to hospital
Rep. John Dingell (D-Mich.), the longest-serving member of Congress, was admitted to a Washington hospital Friday for observation, according to his spokesman.
{mosads}The spokesman said that the retiring congressman is “currently resting comfortably and under doctor’s care.”
Dingell, 88, had missed a tribute to his tenure earlier this week when he fell and bruised his hip.
He has served in Congress for 59 years, longer than any other member in history.
He will be replaced by his wife, Debbie Dingell, in January.
