FBI arrests Madonna’s alleged hacker

When Madonna’s music leaks, the FBI is on it.

FBI agents and Israeli authorities on Wednesday arrested a 39-year-old man in Tel Aviv who allegedly infiltrated Madonna’s computer, stole unfinished songs and leaked them online.

“I am profoundly grateful to the FBI, the Israeli Police investigators and anyone else who helped lead to the arrest of this hacker,” Madonna said in a late Wednesday Facebook post.

{mosads}“Like any citizen, I have the right to privacy,” she continued. “This invasion into my life — creatively, professionally, and personally — remains a deeply devastating and hurtful experience, as it must be for all artists who are victims of this type of crime.”

Israeli police told CNN that the man arrested has targeted other artists as well, stealing and selling their work online. The police did not reveal any names, however.

“We have confiscated many materials and computer equipment from the suspect’s house, and investigations are still under way,” Israeli police spokeswoman Luba Samri told CNN.

The FBI confirmed its involvement.

“This case highlights the international scope of online criminal activity and the need for close cooperation between nations as we collectively identify and bring to justice those who pose a threat in cyberspace,” said an FBI spokesperson.

Madonna’s upcoming album, “Rebel Heart,” is scheduled for a March 9 release.
