White House: ‘Count on’ Keystone veto Tuesday
The White House said to “count on” a veto of legislation approving the Keystone XL pipeline on Tuesday.
“You can count on it today,” said White House spokesman Josh Earnest of the veto.
{mosads}Earnest said the White House has received the bill, which Republican leaders sent over earlier Tuesday. Lawmakers signed it over a week ago.
He added that there would be “no drama or fanfare or delay” surrounding the veto.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) said Tuesday that they would continue to press for approval of the Keystone project.
“The president is sadly mistaken if he thinks vetoing this bill will end this fight,” they said.
