‘American Sniper’ 2014’s highest grossing film
It didn’t win the biggest golden statue at the Academy Awards, but “American Sniper” was pure gold at the box office, reportedly raking in more money in the United States than any other 2014 film.
{mosads}The movie, starring Bradley Cooper as real-life Navy SEAL Chris Kyle, has become the highest grossing flick released last year, according to CNN Money.
The Clint Eastwood-directed film was at the center of a media firestorm following comments from liberal filmmaker Michael Moore. The “Fahrenheit 9/11” director wrote on Twitter in January, “Snipers aren’t heroes.” Moore later said he wasn’t referring to “American Sniper” in his controversial remark.
“American Sniper,” which opened in limited release last Christmas, has brought in $337 million domestically since its debut.
