Dem lawmaker to Lew: Did you tuck Hillary in at night?

Rep. Mike Capuano (D-Mass.) on Tuesday mocked his Republican colleagues on the House Financial Services Committee by asking Treasury Secretary Jack Lew if he used to tuck in then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton at night.

{mosads}Capuano’s odd question came as GOP lawmakers pressed Lew on his knowledge of how Clinton handled her emails while both worked at the State Department.

Rep. Scott Garrett (R-N.J.) asked Lew about his email exchanges with Clinton, prompting Capuano’s sarcastic series of questioning.

Capauno defended Lew, suggesting that it wasn’t Lew’s responsibility to monitor Clinton’s emails.

“Did you tuck her in at night?” Capuano asked. “Did you make sure she brushed her teeth?”

Lew, smiling, asked if it was necessary to respond to Capuano’s questions.

“Well, if we’re going to ask ridiculous questions, we may as well go to the logical extreme of absurdity,” Capuano responded.
