What keeps the Treasury secretary up at night?
Nothing keeps Treasury Secretary Jack Lew from sleep, but he told CNN that he’s worried about cyberattacks.
“You know, I’m pretty tired at night, so I’m not going to say that anything keeps me up at night,” he said.
{mosads}“But you know, something that I think I and most people in leadership positions worry about today in a way that they didn’t a few years ago is cybersecurity.”
Lew said the Treasury Department has been doing an “effective job” of moving quickly to follow cybersecurity issues, but he said “it’s an area where we really need to be on our guard.”
The Treasury works with a number of other agencies on cybersecurity including the Office of Management and Budget, the National Institute of Standards and Technology, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and the Committee on National Security Systems.
During the interview, Lew was also asked if a woman would ever appear on the $20 bill.
“We have been looking at a whole range of issues about how to modernize our currency, and I’m not going to announce anything today,” he said.
