Biden to meet with top Democratic fundraisers

Vice President Joe Biden will meet with top Democratic fundraisers from the Obama-Biden campaigns as he mulls over a presidential run of his own, according to The Washington Post.

The sit-down is scheduled to take place after Labor Day at Biden’s residence at the U.S. Naval Observatory, the report says.

Speculation that Biden will mount a challenge to Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton has been growing in recent weeks.

The vice president met with progressive favorite Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) over the weekend, sparking talk that he may be close to announcing his candidacy.

report surfaced on Monday saying Biden is “increasingly leaning toward” a presidential bid, but “weighing multiple political, financial and family considerations before making a final decision.”

Biden also recently hired a new communications director who formerly worked for John Edwards on his 2008 presidential run.

A RealClearPolitics poll places Biden third in the Democratic primary with 12 percent support, trailing Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) at 25 percent support and Clinton with 49 percent support.
