The bear is loose” will take on new meaning when President Obama hits the wilderness with noted TV adventurer Bear Grylls in an upcoming episode of “Running Wild with Bear Grylls.”

According to a Monday morning press release from NBC, the president “will meet with Grylls while visiting Alaska to observe the effects of climate change on the area.”

Obama is currently on a three-day trip to the Last Frontier.

Grylls and Obama will join forces to trek through the Alaskan wilderness as the president receives a “crash course in survival techniques” from Grylls for a special episode of “Running Wild,” scheduled to air later this year.

The White House confirmed the announcement, adding that filming for the episode will take place Tuesday on Exit Glacier in Alaska’s Kenai Mountains.

In response to a fan’s petition calling on Grylls to “make President Obama drink his own urine while filming” the show — as Grylls has infamous done in the past — the host responded that it hopefully “shouldn’t come to this.”

“Running Wild,” which is in its second season, features Grylls in “one-on-one adventures” with various celebrities who are tested on their survival skills and pushed “to their mental and physical limits,” according to NBC.
