Ex-Obama adviser: DNC appears to be ‘putting finger on scale’ for Clinton
Former top Obama adviser David Axelrod is criticizing the Democratic National Committee’s treatment of White House hopeful Bernie Sanders in the growing controversy over private voter data.
“W/out evidence that his hierarchy knew about data-poaching, harsh penalty v. @BernieSanders looks like @DNC is putting finger on the scale,” David Axelrod tweeted Friday.

The Sanders campaign is suing the DNC in federal court after the campaign was barred from accessing the DNC’s voter database. The suspension came after a Sanders campaign staffer improperly obtained private data from Hillary Clinton’s campaign. The Sanders team fired the staffer and says the DNC overreacted.
{mosads}”That the Democratic Party would deny our staff and volunteers access to data needed to contact voters in Iowa and New Hampshire on the day we reached two million individual contributions and received two of our most prominent endorsements is disconcerting,” the Sanders campaign wrote in an email to supporters.
