Trump to protesters: All lives matter
Donald Trump told black lives matter protesters who were interrupting his rally in Virginia that “all lives matter.”
“You’re going to hear it once,” Trump said, as the protesters kept shouting. “All lives matter.”
{mosads}”All lives matter,” he repeated as his crowd cheered.
Trump has been under criticism from the left and the right since a CNN interview on Sunday in which he did not disavow former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke’s support.
Trump had distanced himself from Duke on Friday, and blamed the CNN interview on a faulty ear piece.
Republican critics of Trump have said he is not fit to be the party’s nominee given what they say was a failure to repudiate Duke.
The Republican front-runner’s speech at Radford University on Monday was interrupted for several minutes by rounds of protests.
Trump initially asked a female protester, “Are you from Mexico?”
“The division and divisiveness in this country is unbelievable,” he continued. “Believe it or not. We are going to unify this country.”
