GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump on Tuesday dismissed a campaign ad using his past remarks toward women as “sour grapes” from his detractors.
“It’s a lot of sour grapes,” he told host George Stephanopoulos on ABC’s “Good Morning America.” “If you look at the women’s polling leaving the booths, I’m leading by a lot.
{mosads}“We’re doing very well with women, and I’m very happy about it. I’m doing very well with women and with men and with educated and with military and vets. We’re doing well in every category.”
Trump then accused 2012 GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney of having a hand in creating the harsh clip.
“I have seen it, and it was [a] Romney deal, you know, who ran one of the worst races in the history of American politics,” he said of the former Republican governor of Massachusetts. “He should have easily beaten the failed president in Obama.”
Our Principles PAC, a group trying to block Trump’s run at the Republican presidential nomination, released an ad on Monday that features women reciting his past remarks.
“If you believe America deserves better, vote against Donald Trump,” the spot concludes after listing Trump’s past insults including “bimbo” and “fat pig.”
