Suspected Paris attacker Salah Abdeslam had planned to use a suicide belt at the Paris soccer stadium in the November attacks on the city but decided against it at the last minute, ABC News reported Saturday.

{mosads}Paris prosecutor Francois Mollins told ABC that Abdeslam had made the revelation to Belgian investigators on Saturday. Abdeslam was captured by law enforcement in Brussels on Friday after being shot in the leg.

“His first declarations are to be taken with caution and leave open a series of questions that Salah Abdeslam will have to explain,” Molins said.

Belgian authorities have charged him with participation in terrorist murder and participation in the activities of a terrorist organization.

Five people were detained in raids in Brussels, including three who sheltered Abdeslam.

The coordinated attacks across Paris killed 130. Police believe he played a role in the logistics of the attacks and escorted three suicide bombers who blew themselves up outside of a stadium during a soccer game.

France plans to extradite Abdeslam.
