Trump to celebrate 70th birthday Tuesday
Donald Trump, the GOP’s presumptive presidential nominee, is turning 70 on Tuesday.
{mosads}Trump shares his June 14, 1946, birthdate with at least four other celebrities, according to The Associated Press, including tennis star Steffi Graf, actress Yasmine Bleeth, singer Boy George and actor Will Patton.
Trump in late May surpassed the 1,237-delegate threshold necessary to secure the GOP’s presidential nomination.
Hillary Clinton last week crossed the 2,383-delegate benchmark required to claim the Democratic presidential nomination.
Clinton and Trump’s likely general election match-up makes them the oldest pair atop a ballot, on average, since the nation’s founding.
Trump will be 70 years old on Election Day, while Clinton will be 69 years old — an average of 69.5 years old.
The average age of the presidential nominees has topped 64 in three election cycles: 1848, 1980 and 1984.
Both Clinton and Trump have released medical records showing they are fit to serve as commander in chief.
Clinton has repeatedly embraced her age by highlighting her role as a grandmother on the campaign trail.
Trump, meanwhile, has rarely mentioned it, but he has accused Clinton of lacking the “strength and stamina” for the presidency.
