WATCH: GOP rep calls for special prosecutor to review Clinton case

A GOP lawmaker is calling for special prosecutor to review whether to charge Hillary Clinton for mishandling classified information.

Rep. Matt Salmon (Ariz.) tells The Hill that since “our attorney general [Loretta Lynch] compromised herself by having a 30-minute meeting with Bill Clinton in Phoenix, the prudent thing to do is” have an outside counsel decide whether to bring charges against the former secretary of State.

{mosads}But Salmon tells The Hill’s Molly K. Hooper that an entirely new investigation is not necessary.

“The investigation has been pretty thorough already, we don’t need to start from square one again,” he said.
