Negotiations underway for Sanders to officially nominate Clinton
PHILADELPHIA — Negotiations are underway to have Bernie Sanders officially nominate Hillary Clinton for president at the Democratic National Convention on Tuesday night, a move that would further signal party unity.
{mosads}According to a source familiar with the talks, the Vermont senator would nominate the presumptive Democratic nominee after the roll call vote that will be held on the convention floor.
NBC News first reported the negotiations.
Sanders delivered a speech Monday night that thanked his loyal supporters and called on them to rally behind Clinton as she faces GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump in the fall.
Clinton will officially accept the Democratic presidential nomination in a prime-time speech Thursday night.
