Poll: Most reject Trump’s border wall

Nearly 6 in 10 likely voters oppose building Donald Trump’s proposed wall along the U.S.-Mexico border, according to a new poll.

Fifty-eight percent in the CNN/ORC survey released Wednesday dislike the GOP presidential nominee’s idea.

{mosads}Forty-one percent favor the barrier, while 1 percent have no opinion.

Pollsters also found Americans are skeptical that Trump could force Mexico into paying for the wall during his possible presidency, with 59 percent calling it “not at all likely” and 15 percent seeing it “not too likely” instead.

Only one quarter believes Trump can make Mexico foot the bill, with 9 percent believing it “very likely” and 16 percent “somewhat likely.”

CNN/ORC conducted its latest sampling of 1,001 of U.S. adults via cell and landline telephone interviews from Sept. 1-4. It has a 3-percent margin of error.

Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto and Trump have since repeatedly sparred since a meeting last week over what they discussed about the controversial barrier.

Peña insists Mexico would never pay for the structure, while Trump has since vowed it will still be built using funding from America’s neighbor.
