WATCH: Conservative pushes bill in funding fight
Top conservative Rep. Bill Flores (R-Texas) said it’s possible the House could try to jam the Senate by passing a stopgap funding bill and then leaving town.
Asked if the House would pass a funding bill that includes policy riders, Flores, the Republican Study Committee Chairman said, “I think it’s a possibility.”
{mosads}Earlier this week, Flores introduced a stopgap funding bill, H.R. 6071, to keep the government running through December 9th at the current levels. The bill includes two policy riders important to conservatives: one that would block Syrian refugee resettlement, and a second that would stop the handoff of Internet domains to an international body.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) set a test vote for Tuesday on a “clean” funding bill that contains no policy provisions.
