Third-party candidate Evan McMullin picks a running mate

Evan McMullin, a third-party candidate for president, is set to officially announce his running mate to be Mindy Finn, a GOP consultant and stout critic of Donald Trump.

{mosads}A source close to the campaign confirmed McMullin’s choice on Thursday, according to a report by BuzzFeed News.

McMullin also teased his VP choice earlier on Thursday, tweeting, “You’re really going to like her!”

Finn has been critical of Trump from the early stages of his candidacy and has publicly blasted the GOP nominee over his “menacing character” and policy positions.

She even compared Trump to an “abusive boyfriend” and said she “won’t support Trump if you paid me his net worth,” according to BuzzFeed.

Finn has also has extensive experience in the field of consulting and has worked closely with a number of top Republicans including George W. Bush and Mitt Romney, the report noted.

McMullin, who announced his anti-Trump candidacy in August, has not been able to gain much voter traction or media exposure. He currently has less than 5 percent support in most state polls.
