Netflix CEO: ‘It’s so bad for America’ if Trump wins

Netflix CEO Reed Hastings made his disdain for a Donald Trump presidency clear in an interview at The New Yorker TechFest on Friday.

“It’s so bad for America if he wins, it’s secondary on the economy,” Hastings said, according to CNN Money.

{mosads}Hastings’s comments at the festival are not his first criticisms of the 2016 GOP presidential nominee. In June, alongside other business leaders, he announced his support for Hillary Clinton.

“Trump would destroy much of what is great about America,” Hastings wrote in his statement explaining his support for Clinton. “Hillary Clinton is the strong leader we need, and it’s important that Trump lose by a landslide to reject what he stands for.”

Hastings and his wife, Patricia Quillin, are featured on Clinton’s “Hillblazers” list of donors who have pledged or raised over $100,000 in support of Clinton.

The Netflix CEO is just one of many prominent players in tech who are on the list. Others include Apple CEO Tim Cook and venture capitalist Chris Sacca.

Trump has received little public support from Silicon Valley, outside of investor Peter Thiel. It has become almost taboo in some circles of the Bay Area to show support for Trump, and Clinton has a significant edge in donors and vocal supporters in the area.
