Kamala Harris wins California Senate seat
California Attorney General Kamala Harris (D) is projected to win the open California Senate seat.
Harris defeated fellow Democrat Rep. Loretta Sanchez for the seat vacated by longtime Sen. Barbara Boxer (D).
{mosads}Harris was the overwhelming favorite coming out of the state’s June jungle primary.
She also made history on Tuesday night, becoming the first African-American to serve California in the Senate.
