Kelly: Ailes made Fox look bad
Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly is firing back at her colleague Bill O’Reilly’s suggestion that she made the network look bad by writing about sexual harassment at the network.
Kelly has accused former Fox News chief Roger Ailes of harassing her, allegations Ailes denies.
{mosads}“I believe that Roger Ailes made the company look bad. And I think, you know, my heart is with other women out there,” Kelly told “CBS This Morning.” “And trust me, this doesn’t just happen at Fox News.”
Kelly added a chapter to her upcoming book, “Settle for More,” in which she describes being sexual harassed by Ailes, the network’s former chairman and CEO.
O’Reilly suggested that Kelly’s book paints the network in a bad light.
“I’m not interested in making my network look bad at all. That doesn’t interest me one bit,” he said Tuesday.
Kelly said she consulted with Rupert Murdoch, the current CEO of Fox News, and his son before adding the chapter.
“The reality is that you’re going to get labeled as a trouble maker. That’s still the world in which we live,” she said.
Kelly said she hoped her public efforts would allow other women to come forward.
“There are men, trust me, right now who are doing this to other women. And other women who are watching this right now who are scared and don’t know what to do,” she said.
