Keeping up with Trump: The Hill’s Transition Tracker
President-elect Donald Trump is busily assembling a Cabinet and administration after defeating Hillary Clinton on Election Day.
Trump Tower in New York has been the site of furious activity, with Trump loyalists and some foes visiting the president-elect to discuss spots in the White House and in his Cabinet.
{mosads}The Hill’s Transition Tracker is intended to help keep up with the nominations and appointments.
The links below will connect you to lists of who the president has appointed to his Cabinet and prominent positions in his White House. We’re also keeping track of Trump’s ambassadorial appointments.
The Hill’s Cabinet page consists of all officials President Obama considers to be Cabinet-level. All agencies are listed in the presidential line of succession up until the Department of Homeland Security.
Presidents have often conferred Cabinet rank on leaders of non-Cabinet agencies and White House officials as a way of highlighting the importance of their work. For example, Obama in 2012 elevated the administrator of the Small Business Administration to the Cabinet level.
Trump may choose to do the same with other officials.
The director of the Central Intelligence Agency is included on The Hill’s list, even though it is no longer considered Cabinet-level, because of the importance Trump has placed on the position.
