Washington state Attorney General Bob Ferguson on Sunday said he will use every tool at his disposal to ensure that President Trump upholds the Constitution.
“My job as attorney general is to uphold the rule of law in this country,” Ferguson told ABC’s “This Week.”
“And I’ll use every tool that I have as attorney general to make sure that the president follows that Constitution.”
{mosads}Ferguson is one of the leading forces behind the opposition to Trump’s executive order, which imposed a 90-day ban on nationals from seven Muslim-majority countries entering the United States.
Ferguson brought a lawsuit forward that ultimately resulted in Judge James Robart’s restraining order, which put a nationwide halt on the travel ban.
The U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals last Thursday refused to reinstate the travel ban, leaving Robart’s order in place.
“Four federal judges have looked at this case, two appointed by Republican presidents, two appointed by Democrats,” Ferguson said Sunday. “All four have complete and utterly rejected the president’s arguments in this case, and we anticipate winning as we move forward.”
