GOP senator echoes Gorsuch on Trump’s judge comments

Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) on Sunday echoed Judge Neil Gorsuch’s comments on President Trump’s criticism of the federal judge who halted his travel ban.

“It’s fine to question the judgment, but to go after individual judges or to talk about them, I think Judge Gorsuch said it right, that is disheartening,” Flake told CBS’s “Face the Nation.” “And I think we ought to avoid any personal attacks like that.” 

Trump slammed Judge James Robart after he issued the restraining order that halted the travel ban, referring to Robart as a “so-called judge.” 

{mosads}Gorsuch, Trump’s Supreme Court nominee, told Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) in a meeting that he found the comments to be “disheartening” and “demoralizing.” A spokesman for Gorsuch confirmed to CNN that the judge did make the comments.
