‘Daily Show’ highlights Trump tweets on International Women’s Day

“The Daily Show” highlighted President Trump’s past tweets about women on Wednesday, which is International Women’s Day.

The show’s Twitter account shared past comments the president has made about women, including Arianna Huffington and Megyn Kelly.

It also shared a tweet by the president saying he doesn’t like “seeing women in combat.”

{mosads}The move comes amid the nationwide “A Day Without A Woman” demonstration. The protest is being organized by the group behind the Women’s March on Washington, which was held the day after the president’s inauguration.

The goal of the day is to “highlight the economic power and significance that women have in the US and global economies, while calling attention to the economic injustices women and gender nonconforming people continue to face,” according to the group’s website.

The president on Wednesday tweeted about his respect for women, asking his followers to join him in “honoring the critical role of women here in America & around the world.”

“I have tremendous respect for women and the many roles they serve that are vital to the fabric of our society and our economy,” the president said in a subsequent tweet.
